Last night in McGregor until 8 April

Finished packing, whew - in 40 degree heat! As I write it is still 28 degrees in the house at 8pm!

Had a lovely G&T and roast pork, roast potatoes and veg dinner at Green Gables and sitting on the verandah looking out over the vineyards and the village thought....why are we going to Italy?

But still - the thought of sailing the blue yonder, being followed by dolphins and having Italian service/food on the ship - yes, it will be good to get away and leave all things behind (except my family & my dogs - will miss them!).

To bed and to dream of new horisons......................

Morning in McGregor

A moving mosaic of rain
Fractures the clear window pane
The soft falling rustle
Stills the dry windy hustle

Dust and grime are washed away
Sunlight seeks the break of day
A drift of air moves oe’r the sill
And coffee beckons as coffee will

Cup in hand, the sun feels good
As bare feet toes caress the wood
The finches red, the weavers glow
As guinea fowls their feathers show

Budding trees with knobbly knees
The promise of fruit to come
Lettuce unfurls and spinach curls
While beans begin to run

McGregor Seasons

Rivers flow
Mountains and snow
In winter in McGregor

Vineyards bud
Rivers flood
In spring in McGregor

Leaves turn green
The air is warm and clean
In summer in McGregor

Orchards are gold
The air turns cold
In Autumn in McGregor

Evening in McGregor…

Rainbows arch across the sky
Mist and sun go swirling by
Water slides and gathers paths
As thunder rumbles in the Krans

Grass bends, branches sway
Cobwebs all are blown away
Spiders seek and crickets creep
As dreams begin to usher sleep

Silent bats begin to show
Flitting in the evening glow
Moon ascends the drifting clouds
As nightjar calls its litany sounds

An owl swoops down to hoot
A star in navy sky does shoot
The moon now sails in glory
And blissful sleep ends the story
